We correct the record when needed. This corrections policy explains when we fix errors and how we publish changes, so readers can trust our coverage.
Corrections policy: when we correct
We make corrections when we find factual errors, outdated or incorrect information, or significant omissions that affect accuracy. In addition, we improve clarity when wording could be misread. Our editors may also update stories when new facts emerge. Each action follows this corrections policy so readers understand what changed and why.
Corrections policy: how to report an error
Please email admin@aistory.news. You may also use the contact form on our site. Include the story link, the exact passage, and any sources that support your report. Clear examples help us respond faster. We acknowledge reports within one business day and start a review as soon as practical.
Verification and review
Editors verify reports with checks against sources and logs. When needed, we consult additional experts. Then we decide whether the change should be a Correction, a Clarification, or an Update. We aim to complete reviews within five business days, although complex issues may take longer. Throughout the process, we keep the reporter informed.
Publishing corrections and updates
- Correction: we fix a factual mistake and add an editor’s note with a timestamp.
- Clarification: we adjust wording to improve accuracy or context without changing the underlying facts.
- Update: we add new, relevant facts and mark the change visibly.
After publication, we notify the reporter when possible and record the change in a simple changelog. This corrections policy ensures a consistent process and visible results.
Transparency, standards, and guidance
We align our corrections policy with recognized guidance on accountability and transparency. For best practices, see the
Poynter Institute and The Trust Project. These resources explain effective workflows, clear labeling, and reader communication.
